This sure has been a fun weekend – and tomorrow we even get a bonus day at home, yay! Mom and dad’s friends Joanne and Chris came out to visit from Minnesota, and they sure were fun to play with.

We all went up to Sausalito for the Art Festival and there was some really cool stuff there. I especially liked this one abstract painting of really colorful parrots that would’ve gone great in my room, but it was kind of expensive. Daddy liked these really neat kalidescopes that someone made, too, and mom loved all the beautiful photography.

After the Art Festival, we went over to Oakland for my friend Sierra’s birthday party – she’s ONE YEAR OLD! Wow, I was so excited for her (you can’t really tell in the pictures, but that’s because I was slowly waking up from my nap). Now that she’s one, all the other 2007 Yahoo! babies have our birthdays coming up – Jack is next, than Sydney and me last. So exciting.

I liked watching Sierra eat her cupcake and then she walked around with my dad a lot. To be honest, I kind of thought she was hogging him, but since it was her birthday I decided to be nice and share him.

Okay, this will probably be my last “Maddy is X months old” posting. Seems kind of dorky to keeping doing this after she turns one. I just can’t believe that we’re already embarking on Maddy’s last month of babyhood. We’re going to have to treasure every last minute of this coming month, because we’re not quite ready to accept that she’s moving on to the toddler years and becoming so independent. It’s a very strange, bittersweet feeling.

We’re loving watching Maddy become her own little (opinionated) person. Now she doesn’t seem to care quite as much if we’re in the room with her or not – except for during bedtime, of course. Mainly, she’s happy as long as we allow her to play on her own with any interesting object that is not an actual toy, such as an empty plastic cup, and she expresses that happiness by talking/screeching/squealing loudly to herself.

P.S. Maddy weights almost 18 lbs now
