So, on Saturday it was my mommy’s birthday and I gave her a really great card, it said:
“I will be on my best behavior today. You can have as many hugs & kisses as you want – but just for today. I promise not to swat at my food. If I do Daddy will clean it up. I will try not to poop. If I do Daddy will change my diaper. Thanks for everything you do and for being the best mom in the quadrant.”
And I finally figured out how to use my whistle (I’ve been sucking on it for a while, but I finally realized that I have to blow in order to make the cool noise)…
Then on Sunday, we went to this cool place called the Ardenwood Farm.
I got to hang out with Sydney and Sierra, but I was mostly interested in watching all the other kids running around and seeing some of the animals.
Now I’m getting ready for my first BIG trip! On Thursday we leave for the East Coast. I hear that I’ll be meeting lots of new friends my age out there, and I’ll get to see three grandmas – I can’t wait.
After playing with Sydney on Sunday you got all wound up and went crazy hyper when we got home:
Lately, you just crack up your dada and I. You talk to us constantly, very sincerely, and it doesn’t seem to bother you that we can’t understand a word you’re saying. You also get really upset all the sudden for no reason (especially in your carseat), and you make it known that you are NOT happy by screaming, letting loose big fat tears, and throwing away every toy or drink I offer to you. I’m starting to realize that you can quickly recover, though, as long as you’re provided with something new and interesting enough to explore.
For example, on the way home from daycare today you got angry and after trying to distract you with your book, phone and sippy cup (each of which ended up on the floor of the backseat), I decided to give you the little insulated lunchbag that we use to transport your milk to and from daycare. You immediately stopped crying and proceeded to carefully investigate the contents of said bag (which included an empty bottle, two sippy cups and an empty mesh feeder-thing. You spent quite a bit of time taking the lid on and off your sippy cup, and then also enjoyed taking apart and trying to put back together the parts of the mesh feeder.
The other thing you STILL do that makes me laugh is pull your hair while nursing. Lately you’ve also taken to pulling my hair quite a bit. It’s almost as if you think yanking our hair will somehow make the milk come out faster or maybe taste better.
Oh, and one more thing – I adore these photos that Sheila took of you on Sunday. I wish she was your full-time photographer.
