Despite our lack of exciting activities, it seems like there’s been kind of a lot going on in Phamster World lately.
The other night I was really really mad at mommy for making me go to bed, so I stood up in my crib and shook the railing as hard as I could while I screamed. Then I pushed myself up as far as I could and the next thing I knew I was on the floor screaming even louder. That was kind of scary. Now I keep hearing mom and dad talk about crib tents or big girl beds – I don’t know if I want either one just yet. What do you think?
In other scary news, I got in a brawl at daycare with this mean baby, and came home with cuts around my eye. Even though I kind of instigated it by pushing her, I made sure to tell everyone all week how “baby hurt” me. I wish mommy would let me grow my nails long so I could defend myself better.
Yesterday, we all went to Gilroy where there were tons of people shopping at the outlets. It was kind of boring, except when we went to Carter’s and I spotted the coolest sunglasses ever. I used all my girlish charms to convince daddy to buy them for me and I haven’t let them out of my sight yet. How do I look? I like to put them in my “pocket” (that means I stick them in my waistband, which I think is super clever).
This weekend, I’ve also gotten into singing. Before, I just liked to sing along with the ice cream truck music, which sounds kind of like “dudududududaduda.” But, now I’m making up my own songs as you can see in this video – mom thinks the words are “bucket baby to you”, but she doesn’t realize that my lyrics are much more sophisticated than that.
Finally, I decided that now that I’m almost 20 months it’s time to graduate from using “mama” and “dada”, so I started calling my parents “mommy” and “daddy” – they seem to really like that.
In honor of the NBA playoffs, Maddy’s been developing some new skills…
In addition, her new favorite words these days include:
- Medicine. This is in reference to my prenatal vitamins, Maddy’s fluoride/vitamin drops, and anything else that looks like it comes in a medicine container.
- Raisin. This is her favorite snack now, and she asks for it at every opportunity.
- TV. In reference to her new favorite TV show, Little Einsteins, or the NBA playoffs…mom, don’t freak out that she’s already falling into her parents bad habits.
- Sorry, please and thank you. These are probably her 3 most-used words lately, and she’s amazingly good at using them at the right moments. She says please when she wants things (especially raisins), she says sorry after her time outs (which she’s very good at cooperating with, by the way), and she says thank you ALL the time – whenever we give her anything or even think about giving her something.
- It’s hot. This one she’s not so good at, she seems to think everything is hot lately, even their air conditioning vent (and in this weather, I guess it is).
- Tickle. Usually when begging to be tickled, and just before hysterical laughter.
- Tree. In reference to the flowers Dave got me for Mother’s day.
For Mother’s Day, I wanted to do something really special for Mommy so I (with Daddy’s help) put together this slideshow to chronicle some of the wonderful moments I’ve had with Mommy. It’s amazing how much I’ve changed and grown (notice how chunky I was as a baby), but I digress. Mommy is really amazing because she’s so patient with me and let’s me experiment with things like feeding myself and playing with other germ infested kids. In all seriousness she’s the best Mommy and takes really great care of me and I think we go together like peas and carrots.
Happy Mother’s Day, Mommy! Hope you like the video.
